GEORGE BUSH – NOT WANTED HERE
We are appalled at the news that George Bush will visit Belfast next month. It is disgraceful that his visit is as a result of an invitation issued by the First Minister and Deputy First Minister.
This part of the world more than most places has an understanding of the deep damage and pain that war and conflict produces. George Bush is internationally regarded as a warmonger. The so called “war on terror”, now rebranded as the “war for democracy” that he has championed has inflicted that damage and pain on countless millions.

Tracking Beacon (NY12508)
A new video by Peter O'Kennedy

Showing May 16 – June 12, St.Stephen's Green.

Opening Thursday May 15th 6-9 pm

An abandoned railway track runs through the town of Beacon, in upstate New York. A miniature camera mounted on a small machine built to ride the track records a long, extreme close-up tracking shot of one of the rails as it enters, passes through, and leaves the town. As the machine carries the camera along the track (as the track tracks itself), the sun sets and the piece ends in darkness.

A claim by the Labour Party that the No Campaign have misrepresented the position of the European Trade Union Council (ETUC) is entirely false and a distortion of fact. In a statement issue today by Eamon Gilmore TD, the Labour Leader claims that attempts have been made by “Irish opponents of the Treaty to misrepresent the position of the ETUC…”

However, People Before Profit Alliance have today confirmed that the in fact the ETUC have indeed called for a social progress clause to be added to the Lisbon Treaty. In correspondence with the People Before Profit Alliance in recent weeks, the ETUC confirmed that the ETUC had “asked for a social clause and that our affiliates are aware of it.” ... read full story / add a comment
