At long last, the Bolivarian republic of Venezuela will take its place at the League of Arab states.
This is a diplomatic coup for the Latin American state, considering its not arabic or even remotely Islamic.

Only a great leader such as Hugo Chavez and his minister for African affairs Reinaldo Bolivar could have achieved such. Though detractor are quick to point out that Venezuela will at first only be an "observer state" at the League's meetings and as such won't have any power to vote or present resolutions - but the important news is this :- Hugo Chavez will get to stand in the family photos.

This article brings to attention two articles relating to the real aims of the US backed Israeli war against Lebanon. The first discusses the backdrop of geopolitical events preceeding it and explains that this war had in fact been planned well in advance and the two soldiers being kidnapped was merely a trigger.

The second article dissects the private conversation between Bush and Blair caught on microphone at the G8 summit. ... read full story / add a comment

"Ó Brádaigh is a traditional republican who is no more a ‘dissident’ than Cathal Brugha was an ‘irregular’ in 1922. He claims to be the president not of a ‘splinter group’ but of the same Sinn Féin formed by Arthur Griffith and subsequently abandoned by Griffith himself, Eamon de Valera, Seán MacBride, Tomás Mac Giolla and Gerry Adams, who all broke the party’s constitution and rules. To take the most recent example, according to section 1b of the Sinn Féin constitution in 1986, proposals supporting entry into Leinster House were banned. Before the Adams leadership put forward a motion to enter Leinster House, they needed to change section 1b by a majority vote. They did not do so, and thus broke the existing Sinn Féin constitution and rules.

The attention of the world has once again been drawn to the Middle East, to a group of waring tribes. Today however, we witness a ‘new’ warfare, a type promoted by the Zionists Richard Perle and Paul Wolfowitz. This new warfare is a composite ‘solution’, an amalgam of the permanent revolution/war doctrine of Lev Bronstein (Trotsky); the tactics of Henry Kissinger (carpet bomber of three million innocent Indo-Chinese civilians) and Leo Strauss, whose exclusivist/elitist philosophy lies behind the events of 9/11, the anthrax letters and the rise of ‘terrorism’ – the new public enemy designed to replace the defunct bogeyman of communism! ... read full story / add a comment

It appears as though Coca Cola are scouring UCD looking for at least one society to whore themselves out for sponsorship money in order to run yet another referendum. It's alledged that QSoc are the most likely to be targeted by the polyester pimps with a referendum being held at the same time as the class rep elections. It wouldn't be the first time that Coke has used a society in order to try and get the referendum (or two) overturned.

FOUR giant circus animals spotted wandering in a field beside Blanchardstown Shopping Centre last month sparked fears for the safety of locals in the area. Two elephants, a rhinoceros and a hippo were spotted in the field beside the shopping centre within close distance to passers by.

This short paper does not pretend to a thorough analysis, however, it is hoped that the few indications would suffice both to verify assertions and to indicate a rich direction for further research.

Innocence implies a lack of guilt or blamelessness; the images humans readily associate with the concept of innocence are those of infants, suckling babes, children and the newborn. A species tends to identify and place value on itself. In contrast to instinctive emotions we have the superimposition of cultural values/demands. Religion is the traditional repository and medium of constructed/cultural values. A cursory analysis would reveal that cultural values are not usually compatible with strong instinctive emotions. The value placed on the lives of defenceless children, infants and the newborn will be the criteria utilised to easily prove our assertions. ... read full story / add a comment

A former leader of the Orange Order and of the Ulster Unionist Party, the Reverend Martin Smyth described it as "the biggest folk festival in Europe".

Here is an account of what some of the 'folk' get up to at this time of year - from The Irish News and Daily Ireland on one day. The Orange ‘folk’ do it most of the year, but go into a frenzy of celebration of their Protestant Britishness when the sun comes out.

By the way the reference to ‘KAI’ sported by some Orangemen does not refer, as has been extensively reported, to “kill all Irish” – it is apparently a reference to an obscure Norwegian footballer who played for Glasgow Rangers. The slogan used to be KAT – “kill all Taigs” – but there was no Norwegian to whom the slogan could be attributed and so it had to be changed.

On Sunday around 2,000 people marched in Tel Aviv to demand the prisoner exchange and to end the assault on Lebanon.

Clearly though this assault was in preparation a long term and they were just waiting for a pretext.

Unfortunately the so-called free press in Israel did not cover the event and in the so-called democracy of Israel, three protesters were arrested under the guise of having a demonstration without a permit. ... read full story / add a comment
