Today Vietnam marks the anniversary of the end of the war it fought against various coaltion forces led and dominated by the USA.

It was a very long, bloody, complicated and nasty war.

We had another successful evening at the Dolphin's Barn community garden.

For the first time, there was an equal gender balance - 4 fellas and 4 women. We did a little bit of watering. Then we cleared more area of grass and stones and began work on another row. We planted a section of the row with sunflower and pumpkin seeds, I think it was. It was a fine, dry day, and as I looked around the garden, I thought of that first night there, and how radically the place has changed since then. We've had a big impact on the space already, and things are going to get better and better.

A Central Queensland family wonders at the priorities of a local high school after their child collapsed on parade.

While the family was subjected to a two week period of imtimidation by the School administration at the start of the year over uniform breaches, they wait to be informed of their childs fainting fit some five days after the event.

In Febuary this year, the child and the parents were informed that it would be unacceptable for the child to attend school wearing basic black shorts rather than the regular uniform royal blue. The child was threatened with disciplinary action for refusing to wear school supplied clothing and had been forced to sit out a lesson because of the uniform breach. ... read full story / add a comment
