TG4 will be doing a short piece about a factory in Arklow on Thursday 28 November at 8pm and repeated on Sunday at 7.20pm. The program is called "An Tuath Nua" and don't worry, it will be subtitled. The factory is producing "Mercury Soap", a highly toxic substance that causes lots of damage to people that use it and the environmnet. The aim of the "soap" is to make your skin whiter, it is big business in Africa and Asia. read full story / add a comment

Row Over Cash for Ex-Prisoners' Group An Ulster Unionist Assembly member last night branded a massive EU cash windfall for a Strabane ex-INLA prisoners' group as 'outrageous.' Teach na Failte, a project for former Republican Socialist prisoners, announced last week that it had obtained almost half a million pounds in peace funding packages. 'The Premier said every penny of any pay rise above four per cent would have to be funded by modernisation" of working practices as outlined in the Bain Review'. 'But a document leaked to the Mirror revealed that far from saving money the Review would cost an extra £41million'. Berlusconi's Mousetrap - Produced by IMC Ireland - will be screened in Derry on Saturday Night. Berlusconi's Mousetrap is the longest and most comprehensive English Language Documentary on the events in Genoa that exists. It is on at 9pm in the Nerve Centre. I think this is the first screening of it in Derry. It is being shown as part of the Foyle Film Festival. Please spread the word in Activist circles. Sinn Fein leader, Gerry Adams, attended a Sinn Fein Public Meeting in Shannon on Saturday night. In a town with a large population of people from Northern Ireland, Adams may have been expecting an appreciative audience. While many did come to hero worship, he also had to face some hard questions.
