Many of you believe that this resolution is crucial in the Palestinian conflict, however you have voted on it without consulting with the Friends of Palestine. It may have been that you were busy in the preparation for Geneva Accords while voting for this resolution. It may be that now you will doubt your vote. The resolution that you have supported violates the basic legitimate Palestinians rights to “terminate the occupation”, and the right of return, which is recognized under international law read full story / add a comment

A protest took place today outside the Department of Justice, Stephens Green. The aim of the protest was to raise the issue of the state of Tibet, which has been forcefully occupied by China since 1951. Protesters held placards proclaiming 'EU MINISTERS HEAR OUR PLIGHT, HUMAN RIGHTS NOT TRADING RIGHTS' and 'RELEASE ALL TIBETAN POLITICAL PRISONERS NOW!' There was a Chinese delegation meeting officials from Iveagh House, and they arrived as the protest was well underway. Joe Higgins TD, also arrived, to speak to some of the groups members, to once more express his total support to those who are fighting for a free Tibet - free from Chinese Genocide, and free from the vast ecological destruction, that is currently being experienced, at the Behest of BP, Shell and other corporations that wish to exploit the oil, mineral and gas reserves of Tibet. If you would like to become involved with TIBET SUPPORT GROUP IRELAND - please E-mail: [email protected] read full story / add a comment

Women and Men Put the Government on Trial ...Including for Collusion with Thieves, Murderers, Warmongers, Arms Dealers Bush and Blair who Want to Rule the World... ...and for the war on us all - if they don't get us with bombs or coups, they kill us with poverty and overwork...there's money for Raytheon, money for protecting the US military at Shannon, money for Bush's visit and EU meetings, but no money for health care, no money for asylum seekers, no money for social welfare - plenty of money for the military/corporate takeover but nothing for all our needs. The weekly picket of Mill Street Garda Station in Galway Calls Women and Men to Join Us and Speak Out. Women, children and men have picketed the Garda station from 1-2pm every Wednesday for almost one year now, beginning with the demand that the Irish State's security forces refuse to serve warmongers at Shannon. It has turned into much more as we've met or been joined by women and men seeking asylum, who have to report to Mill Street before deportation. Or the women and men who have called out to us to report on the mic how they've been harassed and assaulted by police as they are arrested and hauled into the station. Or after the brutal assault of Eoin Rice on the way to and in this same Garda station.... read full story / add a comment
