As we await the weekend’s deadline we will celebrate the unprecedented global movement against war with a night of photos and film from recent anti-war demonstrations accompanied by music from the Buskers against Bush, as seen on Grafton St this time last month. It would be helpful if people who have photos could mount them and bring them along, photos from all countries welcome! Buskers Against Bush (BAB) is an equal opportunities outfit, totally non-sectarian, so if you have an instrument, and are old enough to hold it the right way up, please bring it along and add to the general musicality of the evening. Admission E5 or donation. Proceeds to Globalise resistance and the Anti-War Movement. Bar open 8-12pm. read full story / add a comment

The Northern Ireland Executive's support for the rapid development of the defence industry is a breach of the spirit and letter of the Belfast Agreement and the Northern Ireland Act 1998, according to the Green Party's John Barry, in South Belfast. The newly appointed leader of the Green Party in Northern Ireland, Queen's lecturer, Barry, says he will challenge the legality of the Northern Ireland Executive's support for such initiatives as the Northern Ireland Aerospace Consortium, if elected to the Assembly in the forthcoming elections. Barry believes that support for the development of the defence industry in Northern Ireland and the export of weapons systems is also incompatible with the 'Peace Process'. read full story / add a comment
