PLEASE COPY AND PASTE THIS INTO YOUR EMAIL AND FORWARD IT TO EVERYONE IN YOUR ADDRESS BOOK AND ANYONE ELSE YOU CAN THINK OF. FEEL PUT YOUR OWN HEADLINE ON THE ARTICLE TO SUIT YOURSELF. This is a piece which appeared in The Sunday Tribune this weekend. It was compiled by Diarmuid Doyle. The reason I'm posting the article in full is that as far as I know the Tribune does not publish on the internet. (point number 35 in the list does not appear in the original article.) There are many more points that could be added, If you have any by all means add them in. read full story / add a comment

According to the March issue of the Ecologist magazine (page 17), the Belgian company Indaver are preparing an Environmental Impact Assessment for the building of an incinerator in Ringsend that would handle over 500,000 tonnes of waste per year. This is the same company that has already got planning permission despite local opposition, for an incinerator in Duleek, in Co. Meath. Besides the well known pollution effects of incinerators, experience has shown in many other countries that they tend to put a brake on recycling efforts, largely because much of the material they burn is also recyclable. read full story / add a comment

Inquiries and further donations can be made [email protected] Hopefully a more formal fund can be set up and further fundraising will kick off with a broader group. May 10 (Bethlehem) Today at 2:40 pm, the Israeli army stormed the Church of the Nativity and arrested ten internationals, who had risked their lives last week to bring food and medical supplies to the priests, monks and Palestinian citizens held inside the church. Those inside had been reduced to eating grass and leaves until the internationals brought in rice, lentils, salt and other essential foodstuffs. One of the internationals, Mary Kelly - a trained nurse, was able to treat the injured and sick who had been denied access to medical treatment until then read full story / add a comment

Excerpt: "Thursdy march was not the same at all, many (Reclaim the Streets and others) lamented; it had been hijacked by left-wing groups who laid the dreary recruiting hand of organised socialism upon them. An RTS spokesperson made a point of expressing dismay at this in the last-but-one speech outside Pearse Street station. His was meant to be the very last speech but Globalise Resistance master of ceremonies Joe Carolan, also a member of the Socialist Workers' Movement (sic), could not resist packing in one more speech from one more over-excited radical bent on winning potential members to myriad socialist causes." read full story / add a comment
