The Coalition of Communities Against Drugs are launching “Pushers Out” in Galway Library on Wednesday 28th at 6pm. read full story / add a comment

Dr.Owens Wiwa, brother of the executed writer and activist Ken Saro-Wiwa arrives this coming Friday from Canada. He is expected at 10.25am. at Dublin airport. He will help lead the March to the Dail on Saturday and meet the families and the men in prison. He returns to Toronto on Sunday morning. His life since his brother was hanged is the subject of a book recently published in Canada for the tenth anniversary of Ken's death. Available from amazon.ca under title The Politics of Bones: Dr. Owens Wiwa and the Struggle for Nigeria's Oil, it outlines the intricacy of government and multinational Royal Dutch Shell. He has maintained a sympathetic position to the Erris gas issue coming for a time to the An Bord Pleanala hearing. His earlier visits were to plead for his brother's life ten years ago.
