Amer Wreck A
Say it out loud and you’ll get it.

The blurb describes it as Fahrenheit 911 meets Moulin Rouge and it has something for everyone- brilliant comedy about the current US President, fantastic music from 60s, sex and full frontal nudity, and a ‘God’ figure that I think most of us would be happy with! On top of that there’s a strong message about political activism. definitely one to debate in the pub after.

Everyone in limerick should grab the chance to see it. Only till Sat night in Belltable. For those of you unfortunate not to be in Limerick, I hear rumours of a movie version... read full story / add a comment

Factual disputes regarding the ambit of the Tara complex and its definition under current legislation have not been resolved. The testimony of expert witnesses on the discovery of two National monuments at Barronstown and Collierstown disallowed.
The State contends that in fact no national monument was discovered on the 38 sites, nor is there legislation protecting the landscape. Chris. read full story / add a comment

The dispute at Irish Ferries shows the need for a different type of trade unionism.

IBEC, the employers body, did not once condemn the actions of Irish Ferries - even though they wanted to pay workers below the minimum wage - so it makes no sense to regard them as our 'social partners'.

We, therefore invite you to this seminar to discuss Social Partnership, the EU Services Directive, migrant workers and union recruitment and how to build fighting trade unions today. read full story / add a comment

4.00pm - Anarchism, the State and Justice
Can justice really be achieved if we get someone else to do it on our behalf – a lawyer, an NGO, a priest or a political leader? Are the means we use to achieve social justice as important as achieving social justice itself? And how important are the different political philosophies – reformism, nationalism, republicanism, and socialism - in getting to our goals? From the same tradition that inspired Emma Goldman, Mahatma Gandhi, Noam Chomsky, and Leo Tolstoy, the Workers Solidarity Movement set out the case for Anarchism. read full story / add a comment

US ‘intelligence’ agencies now realise the ‘Bin Laden’ tape has been a huge flop and the effect has been the reverse of that anticipated. It has also proven to be a monumental liability as people around the globe are now questioning the veracity of all allegations relating to Bin Laden and Al Qaeda; Howard and Blair beware, even the Arabs are questioning their ideological base. Well done Semitic ideologues, neo-cons and Straussians. External attacks are unnecessary, you are doing an excellent job on yourselves – no help needed or wanted! read full story / add a comment
