Yesterday saw hundreds participate in nonviolent direct action to shut down Adermaston - Britain's nuclear weapons factory.
Friends from London, Oxford, Farmhouse Catholic Workers and Trident Ploughshares joined hundreds of others in an attempt to nonviolently shut down Aldermaston.
We will try to incorporate solidaritywith this direct action into this week's GPO anti-war vigil Background on Monday's Aldermaston blockade see http://blockawe.blogspot.com and http://www.tridentploughshares.org US/UK went to war in Iraq to dismantle WMD...meanwhile Aldermaston continues to produce WMD. Anyone really believe that conditions are 'improving' in Iraq? The US and the UK appear to be growing weary of the expense and difficulty of war and noises off from the msm are that the job is done and other fatuous nonsense of that sort. The oil may very well be secured - well, as much as it can be, but life for Iraqis is absolutely dire. read full story / add a comment

Following a successful landing in Gaza on 23 August 2008 and an unsuccessful venture in September, the Free Gaza Movement is sailing again tomorrow, 28 October 2008, to break the blockade of Gaza and deliver food and medicines to the people.
