The Regime is now deploying a media fraud that (without any evidence whatsoever, as usual) claims that 3 "mystery ships" are carrying Iraqi "weapons of mass destruction" around the world. http://news.independent.co.uk/world/politics/story.jsp?story=379623 But a Canadian article suggests they are nothing more than the usual smuggling vessels employed to bring in people from China and other Asian countries. http://canada.com/national/story.asp?id=D11D5E6C-7D0D-4323-8057-A48B6415FF78 To see such ships, view: Chinese Immigrants from Mainland China to Canada http://www.library.ubc.ca/asian/FinalAsian/Canada/Thumb/Canada.html click on the thumbnails to see the larger images read full story / add a comment

100,000 plus people took to the streets of EU capital Brussels last Saturday 15th Feb, international anti-war day. 100,000 was reported by the mainstream media here but indymedia claims it was higher. The bureaucratic bourgeoisie capital was transformed for the day. Men, women, kids, dogs all came out in force to voice their strong opposition to the war on Iraq, plenty of colour, creativity, a beautiful day full of hope and solidarity. A large part of the demo also focused on the military use of the Belgian port Port D´anvers by the US in the lead up to their war on Iraq. 100,s of groups- Communists, Socialists, Greens, Fair Trade, students, everyone. No arrests reported. This huge demo on the 15th highlights the growing support for the mass anti war movement here in Brussels and Belgium itself. Peace. read full story / add a comment

An Taisce's exciting environmental fiscal reform conference tomorrow in Dublin Castle from 11. Against a background of the unwillingness of the Department of Finance to supply any speaker, finance spokespersons Richard Bruton of Fine Gael and Joan Burton of Labour will join former EU Environment Commissioner Paleokrassis and other national and international speakers to address the key issue of environmental fiscal reform - probably, unfortunately, the most effective way to bring about an environmental agenda. read full story / add a comment
