In a bizarre encounter at Shannon airport, two of the war monitors at Shannon today came face to face with a group of US military personnel in the arrivals hall at Shannon airport. The monitors were in the public area, watching the three Hercules C-130s at the airport, and did not expect to see uniformed military personnel in the public part of the terminal. One monitor asked a simple question and both were ordered out of the terminal, at the behest of an anonymous special agent. Two inspectors, two Garda and several security personnel made sure we left the premises. They were very determined to get us out, and the whole thing raises a lot of questions. Today is Halloween so maybe they were just trick or treating? Strange and scary stuff… read full story / add a comment

I did take this from the RTE site (sorry) but it is an important enough story and I haven't seen it on here and it has not been prominent in the mainstream media. I suppose is depends on who is suspected of terrorist attacks and so it is not reported widely. read full story / add a comment

No shit there has been nothing posted about a YES vote on the Indymedia because it is over. And the people of Ireland have voted yes. Most of the people who visit this Indymedia site are anti nice and anti government etc (just selfish bastards). And aren’t getting enough attention in there everyday life so they need to come on here to get it. Grow up. I heard somebody say that RTE were giving unfair coverage to the YES campaign. But just look at this site, all you see is NO NO NO. People who are not anti government or anti nice do not visit this site it’s not Independent. IT all ways takes the view of the odd ball. Maybe coz it’s run by odd balls. Get over it the people have voted and they voted YES read full story / add a comment

Read a short book 'Zen Of Global Transformation' - it's free on http://www.QuayLargo.com and you will see that the solution to world problems has been invented many times. The problem is for PEOPLE TO AGREE ON ONE! There will be NO change in the world unless people involve themselves in solving LOCAL issues. And look at how local issues effect global issues - e.g. do you own shares in plc's? If so you are contributing to Elite Domination / genocide / environmental destruction etc. It's done in the name of making you a profit, of providing you with a pension. read full story / add a comment

"Timing is everything when you do this. If you launched [a public campaign] too far in advance and nothing followed, that would raise questions and fuel a debate that would not be helpful to the administration...If you join the debate now, but don't act for months, you pay a worse price."
