On Friday 3rd June 2005, Dr Jerry Cowley TD led a delegation to the office of the County Manager, Des Mahon. The delegation consisted of local people from Erris and members of Shell to Sea (Mayo and Galway). Despite receiving prior notification by a member of Shell to Sea, the county manager left the building ten minutes before the arranged meeting time. He returned thirty minutes later and was surprised to find the delegation waiting for him. Let us just say they had words!!!

Dr Cowley presented the letter to the county council, despite the absence of Mr Mahon, calling on them to play a more pro-active role in the conflict between the local people of Erris and multi-national giant Shell. It also called on Mayo County Council to insist on adequate regulation of the entire project to ensure the safety of the citizens of county Mayo.

This weekend, June 4-6, is the solidarity gathering in Rossport, Co. Mayo. All are welcome. read full story / add a comment

As the war drums of the Bush Administration drone into background noise, a growing number across the globe turn their eyes to the USA itself. The view becomes a prelude to the upcoming horror feature of this planets history - the Day America Turns on Herself!

The Heartland of Liberty is being shaken to its very core by the growing disquiet in its People, and as the onlookers stand appalled, the very foundations of this planets concept of Liberty are eroded and turned to shifting sands of displaced freedom.

As a planet, The People heard the lies told to cause War. As a Planet, The People heard the changing tales as justification to cause War. As a Planet, we stand helpless and watch the internal and deliberate destruction of the single heartplace of Liberty for all men, America. read full story / add a comment

The French have excelled. People started reading books, thinking, and voting.

The Dutch followed on.

What will happen in Ireland? Will there be another No vote election not be acceptable to Govt . Let us recall, the 'machinery' kicked in another strategic vote....and apathy and people beckoned to the call of the Master!!!

Will it be the same this time....Do we really need to waste money on holding an 'Election' as a form of token gesture.

Where are the Watchdogs? Who has the teeth? Why aren't Corrupt Practices not made a criminal offence? What about the scandalous loopholes in those who pay tax and more importantly the Equitable Amount.
