Oriana Fallaci, one of Italy's best know journalists, currently in retirement, expresses her feelings regarding the rising tide of Anti-Semitism in Europe. Oriana Fallaci on Antisemitism Today April 12, 2002 I find it shameful that in Italy there should be a procession of individuals dressed as suicide bombers who spew vile abuse at Israel, hold up photographs of Israeli leaders on whose foreheads they have drawn the swasitka, incite people to hate the Jews. And who, in order to see Jews once again in the extermination camps, in the gas chambers, in the ovens of Dachau and Mauthausen and Buchenwald and Bergen- Belsen et cetera, would sell their own mother to a harem. I find it shameful that the Catholic Church should permit a bishop, one with lodgings in the Vatican no less, a saintly man who was found in Jerusalem with an arsenal of arms and explosives hidden in the read full story / add a comment

There is a new project concerning non-hierarchal social structures, their forms and how they have existed, and how they can be applied in social and political activism in the creation of dual power structures and in the creation of a society free from hierarchal power relations. This discussion and the ideas generates through it will serve as the basis for an on-line resource and printed work on these types of social relations. read full story / add a comment

There has been an e-mail circulating concerning a protest outside the FAI offices on Merrion Square today at 7.30. Will this be attended by all the fools who laughed at me in the past for wasting my time whilie protesting against war and inequality? I'd like to see the crowd both the make up and the scale. I'm interested in seeing it but unfortunately I cant make it (I'm going playing a bit of football). So if anyone is in the area and a little curious maybe they could post a few details later or tomorrow? Did these protesors take thier lead from the wave of protest on the news this last few years? Is there a way to get these people out on other marches now that they 'march'? Yours baffled but still in love with the beautiful game. read full story / add a comment

An alliance of anarchists in Cork ran an anti-general election campaign during the recent Dail elections. The campaign involved members of the WSM, the ASF and the independent Cork Anarchists. At the outset, the campaign put as its aim to 'use the elections to highlight anarchists ideas' A leaflet was drawn up that set out anarchist ideas and our criticisms of capitalism, arguing from that the current elections offered most people no real choice. Full report is online with pictures, the leaflet text and links at http://struggle.ws/wsm/news/2002/electionMAY.html read full story / add a comment
