The film follows two players of the txalaparta, a traditional Basque percussion instrument, as they travel from their country to India, Mongolia, the Sahara and the Artic Circle, linking up with nomadic people and playing music with them. The txalaparta (pronounced tcha-la-parta) is constructed of four thick planks of wood, resting loosely on a trestle, played usually by a pair of players with two wooden strikers each. read full story / add a comment

Politics is changing and changing fast. In the Arab world millions of people have had enough of dictatorship and are bravely transforming North Africa and the Middle East in revolutionary movements that have yet to be completed. Young people, using new media like Facebook and Twitter organised the first protests – in many countries soon followed by mass action and the might of the working class. read full story / add a comment

Whether we like it or not Ireland is now a colony of the EU and the IMF, who dictate every aspect of public policy. Instead of our taxes being spent on our local services, whose wages would be by and large spent locally and bolster our econonomy, we are forced to pay off foreign corporations who are free to invest this wealth wherever they see fit.

Its time for the Irish people to decide. This is our country and these issues are too importent to be left up to those who have proven cannot be trusted on these issues. It is after all, our future and our lives and those of our children and grandchildren are at stake. read full story / add a comment
