8-12 August 2011 Politics is changing and changing fast. In the Arab world millions of people have had enough of dictatorship and are bravely transforming North Africa and the Middle East in revolutionary movements that have yet to be completed. Young people, using new media like Facebook and Twitter organised the first protests – in many countries soon followed by mass action and the might of the working class. In the wake of an economic crisis which shook the very infrastructure of capitalism, now mass movements across Europe are stating loud and clear that youth, workers, ordinary people refuse to pay the costs of this crisis through savage cuts to our pay, jobs and services. |
