The Science Museum has repeated the claim that Roberta Cowell was Britain's 'first transgender woman'. This is false, says Zack Stiling. She was biologically female. Worse, she would have hated the trans movement.

national / consumer issues / press release Tuesday August 16, 2005 11:22 by Roger Clifford
Craigavon Trades Council hosted an open meeting in opposition to the introduction of water charges.
The meeting was designed to consider the best ways to progress the campaign which now includes a provence wide petition.
While the meeting was very useful, the fact that only one political party (Sinn Fein) attended the meeting was a clear indication that a lot of hard work was going to be nessessary.
The lack of interest from the political parties (apart from the above mentioned) was in sharp contrast to the "bluster" heard from ALL the political parties during the recent election campaign.
It seems clear that if any serious opposition to this unjust double tax is going to be mounted it is going to come from within local community groups, Trade Unions, and members of the wider general public.
Hopefully the campaign will now begin to take shape, and with a sufficient groundswell of support the other political parties might consider rejoining the fight. read full story / add a comment

George Clinton, ex president of the USA, usually publishes opinion pieces in the Italian daily "la reppublica", but this week he launched his European opinion from the French "Le Monde" whence it has now been translated to spanish and is exciting the comment of big newspapers across the continent as being a heavy weight support of a "new theory".

That theory to put it most basically, is "the US & UK have gone mad". Or to use Clinton's words "we can not hide behind a wall or kill all our enemies" [the implication being that is exactly the policy wish].

Or to use the phrase I used on imc uk after the july bombings, "they entered psychosis". read full story / add a comment
