interesting article in the weekly worker on homophobia by oppressed people and what the lefts attitutde is and should be. Criticising the oppressed The gay rights group, Outrage, is renowned for its headline-making campaigns against homophobia - of, for example, the Church of England, Robert Mugabe and elements of the Palestine Liberation Organisation. This led to a fierce denunciation by the SWP’s Lindsey German and a heated exchange on BBC2’s Newsnight. Most recently Outrage has highlighted the murderous lyrics of certain Jamaican reggae artists. But is it right to criticise the oppressed? Peter Tatchell, Outrage’s leading activist, explains his approach http://www.cpgb.org.uk/worker/544/tatchell.htm read full story / add a comment

Another 27% had agreed with the statement that 'there are too many immigrants in the country.' It may surprise some of those voters who believe that immigrants (the bulk of whom are here on approved work permits) are costing us lots of money, that we are still receiving large transfers from the European Union. read full story / add a comment
