The DHKC, a revolutionary group from Turkey, describes how the UK's Terrorism Act 2000 is being used for repression and blackmail directed at the Turkish-speaking minority, particularly in London. Shopkeepers especially are being harassed by police in an attempt to get them to turn informer. Copts (Christians of Egypt) are not asking for special treatment to compensate for centuries of discrimination and persecution. They are only asking for equality. They don't want anything more, and they will not settle for anything less. It is hard to believe that , at the turn of the 21st century,equality to Copts remains a luxury they still dream of. This at a time when the rest of the civilized world considers equality a birth right to be taken for granted. read full story / add a comment

The Moon is full over the desert and visibility is high for the Iraqi front line troops. Sacked security workers from Belfast International Airport have begun a occupation of transport house the headquarters of the ATGWU in Belfast. The sacked workers claim they were missed represented by union officials and are demanding that the out going General Secretary Bill Morris comes to Belfast and personally takes control of their cast. The Guardian is one of the few papers to report this story amid all of the war justification hype. Her emails to her family illustrate life under the illegal and brutal Israeli occupation "I don't know if many of the children here have ever existed without tank-shell holes in their walls and the towers of an occupying army surveying them constantly from the near horizons. I think, although I'm not entirely sure, that even the smallest of these children understand that life is not like this everywhere.
