Issues Magazine, sold by the homeless and long-term unemployed will be launching its new Belfast Office in Belfast City Centre on Friday 19th December at the Corn Market Bandstand at 4 p.m.(Belfast City Centre)

Issues is encouraging the General Public to come along and donate Sleeping Bags and non-perishable foods in conjunction with the three Agencies that operate on the front-line of the Homeless Crisis in our City. Representatives from the Welcome Centre, Homeplus and Le Heiste will be present on the day from 4 to 6 p.m. to collect the donated items. The recent Spotlight documentary profiling the work of the Welcome Centre in West Belfast and Joe McGuigan highlighted the growing problem of Homelessness in Belfast and this event hopes to gather much needed items that will be directly given to those most in need.

Last night Dublin City council went through its annual charade of will they - won't they. (We always know they will). After loud rumblings that the estimates would not be passed, they were. Again. In order for them to pass, Fine Gael allowed a free vote and the Greens after receiving assurances also voted for them.

During the abortion referendum the case of the Portuguese women and the nurse tried on abortion charges made headlines. The nurse got a heavy prison sentence. Send her Christmas cards...Amnesty style. If anyone would like to do this her address is below.
