For the third year running, the city of Belfast will have the honour to host the Anti-Racism soccer World Cup between July 31 and August 2. Timed to coincide with the opening of west Belfast's Féile an Phobail, the Anti-Racism World Cup is intended as a show case of solidarity between people of all nationalities and a demonstration against discrimination and division. On Saturday August 1, Hands Off the People of Iran will be playing a fundraising cricket match against the Labour Representation Committee. The team captains, John McDonnell MP (LRC) and Attila the Stockbroker (HOPI), will be tossing a coin at 11 am, and the first ball will be bowled at noon. Having been contacted by concerned individuals, many working in the airport. The wall mounted fish tanks on the ‘Street’ at Dublin Airport were again brought to our attention. In 2006 AFAR did a demo at Dublin Airport and as a result had SEAHORSES removed from the ESTEE LAUDER Crème de la Mer tanks after hearing many Seahorses had died due to lack of feeding and regular care. There is the proposed Tara Skryne Landscape Conservation Area and the proposed Tara UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is an obsure but alarming article. I had to read it twice to figure what it was saying: that it is a crime to advocate boycotting Israeli products in France. A man has been fined €1000 for organising a boycott of Israeli products; and the French appeals court and Council of Europe's European Court of Human Rights upheld this. read full story / add a comment |
