On January 29, 2003 a motion was proposed in Dail Eireann by Tony Gregory and Joe Higgins which could have stopped all US military overflights and refueling in Ireland. The Campaign Against the Racist Referendum (C.A.R.R.), have produced over 300,000 leaflets calling for a NO vote in the forthcoming referendum on citizenship.

Over the past few weeks these leaflets have been handed out at bus and railway stations etc. and there are a number of regular weekly handouts, mostly in Dublin. We need more volunteers to get involved in this vital campiagn - especially in cities and counties outside Dublin.
If you are opposed to this racist referendum and want to see it beaten and confined to the bin, contact the campaign and take some leaflets for you and your friends to deliver in your area etc.
This racist referendum can be beaten -like the Nice Treaty - but it will take a massive effort from people all over the country if this is to happen, get involved now!
There are also a number of raffle tickets left for this Saturday's 15th May, cash draw. [ title changed from all caps. Please don't do this. Thanks - Ed] read full story / add a comment

Here's some more photos from our weekly stall raising funds and awareness for Mary Kelly's retrial.
We've been getting a great response from people on the streets of Galway. With her re-trial set for June 15th, it's even more crucial now that people get behind this case.

This woman was brave enough to put her freedom on the line in order to challenge Shannon's usage by an aggressive foreign military presence. Now the people of Ireland should be out supporting her.
So write to the papers, phone up the radio, print leaflets off the webpage and hand them out, donate/raise funds...whatever you can think of. This case will have reprecussions for us all.

When there are empowering marches and actions against the state, history can be re-written quickly, especially by the Trotskyists to reflect that nothing would've been possible without their 'Leadership'. Fortunately, due to the March on Farmleigh being organised by the Dublin Grassroots and getting little or no support from the SWP, it is going to prove a little more difficult for them to claim any part in it. In fact less than 48 hours later the Party had issued a leflet condemning us, telling us to Get Organised, and calling us 'Maggie Thatcher's Children acting like capitalist consumers'. Oooh that hurts. It has all the hallmarks of Herr Kieran Allen in one of his parental lectures to the children of the revolution. In any case, this article describes the real involvement of the SWP in the Mayday events and will hopefully pre-empt any more of their attempts to re-write history which have already begun. read full story / add a comment

Captain Blue and his team, acting under instruction from Captain White, have unearthed the person responsible for sitting on the British Ambassador’s October 2 1969 letter in which the owner of the Irish Times, combining both racism and sectarianism, called his editor a "renegade or white nigger" on “northern questions”.
