I wrote this article when I joined Sinn Fein. I'd just come back to the country from a spell abroad and reckoned they were all right. I'm not convinced now, but I've decided to send in the article anyway as I think it makes some good points. read full story / add a comment

Benefit fraud hardly makes a ripple in the ocean, compared with our Government wasting billions of taxpayers money on pointless wars. The government hands over billions of £ of taxpayers money to a few privately owned multinational arms dealer companies, for lucrative weapons contracts, just because their buisness associates and financers own shares in these companies and have vested interests in making profits through selling arms for war. Corruption and fraud on a monumental scale. read full story / add a comment

Historian Brian Murphy will give a talk in Cork on April 15th to address the accusations that Tom Barry was a "serial killer" who lied about the infamous British false surrender at the Kilmichael Ambush of November 1920, and part of an IRA strategy aimed at targeting Protestants during the War of Independence. This article attempts to explain some of the background behind this ongoing historical debate. UPDATE: Audio of talks added on Apr 25th 2005 read full story / add a comment |
