The National Youth Campaigners from Concern's 'Stop Child Labour' campaign met in Galway recently and declared their commitment to encouraging awareness and action on this issue.

The campaigners, hosted by the SpunOut.ie National Youth Organisation, are highlighting that up to 218 million children worldwide are involved in the manufacture of products such as chocolate, clothing and toys.

Barack Obama’s victory has enthused millions of people across the globe. But anti-war activists should be careful not to cheer him too loudly. Much was made of his claim to want to meet Iran’s president Ahmadinejad “without preconditions” to sort out the ‘disagreements’ . And, after all, both have quite a lot in common: they want to see the Shia government succeed in Iraq and are strong opponents of the Taliban in Afghanistan. But Obama has also made clear that he will do “anything” to stop Iran from developing the facility to produce nuclear weapons.
