Kildare Conty Council has ruled that communications antennae and other equipment adjacent to a junior primary school are "exempt development" following a six-month delay. Antennae were placed at the side of a hotel over several years without planning permission. The most recent installation included two cabinets, antennae and trunked cabling which was installed to go over the roof. The 280 children at Scoil San Carlo, Confy, Leixlip are being exposed to numerous signals. Former Irish Foreign Minister Dermot Ahern suggested that "cover" for any US torture taxis that "surfaced" would be provided through random inspections at Shannon, a new confidential cable on the Wikileaks site reveals.Ahern said that he "could use a little more information" about US flights in 2007, “musing that it might not be a bad idea to allow the random inspection of a few planes to proceed, which would provide cover if a rendition flight ever surfaced”, stated former US ambassador to Ireland Thomas Foley.

At about 6pm Thursday December 16th., Julian Assange emerged from Britain's HIgh Court on the Strand, London. He had finally been released on bail after nine days in solitary confinement at Wandsworth Prison.
