The use of the racist "N" word by Enda Kenny leader of the Fine Gael party recalls the Fascist origins of this political party. The use of such a derogatory term heightens racial tension at a time when people have been beaten to death on Ireland's streets because of the colour of their skin. That RTE complied with Kenny's request and refused to report the story puts into serious doubt the national broadcasting entity's professionalism. If Kenny continues as leader it means that Fine Gael is being true to its Fascist origins and should be treated as a pariah. ... read full story / add a comment

It was supposed to be the key chain of evidence linking the September 11 hijackers to Osama bin Laden - a wire transfer of $100,000 to lead hijacker Mohamed Atta. For a public increasingly skeptical of evidence culled from passports in the rubble and flight manuals in the glove compartment, here was the "money" shot, a financial trail leading to the fall of the Twin Towers. Yet less than five months later, the man initially fingered as the paymaster of 9/11 would be sitting in a Pakistani jail, accused of a wholly different crime - the murder of Daniel Pearl. ... read full story / add a comment
