Approx 100 US/UK aircraft bomb Iraq![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The Telegraph (UK) reports that approximately 100 US/UK warplanes were involved in an attack on Iraq. This is speculated to be a softening-up operation for the coming US act-of-aggression against Iraq. This and a lot more current news is reported on the excellent radio show "Democracy Now!" hosted by Amy Goodman on the Pacifica network (founded by a pacifist anarchist in the 40's). Real Audio streams and transcripts are available by following the links at http://www.democracynow.org It's interesting to hear such a radical show coming from the heartland of America. Indeed it's a lot more radical than much of what passes for the left in Europe. Also today was an interview with Green Party Candidate for Senate (N.J.) Ted Glick, who was arrested for criminal trespass when he attempted to enter a "public" debate that was held between Republicans and Democrats. Other recent stuff on the site includes a debate between Ramsey Clarke (ex-Attorney General of USA, now a front man for an entryist Leninist sect) and a Pentagon spokesperson, reports on the W$$D, interview with radical historian Howard Zinn etc. Seriously, if you've never heard this show, get to your nearest ethernet link and download a couple of episodes. It's a pity that indymedia.ie doesn't have the resources to mirror it. |
