Irish consumers are being ripped off. A report conducted last September indicates as much. Prices for alcoholic drinks are a staggering 59% (and rising) above the EU average according to a major international study. Irish pubs and nightclubs, especially those in Dublin, are churning out incredible profits. These profits, earned from the toil of the Irish consumer, can be explained by none other than total greed. ... read full story / add a comment

The implications of this are grave beyond telling and yet scarcely ever noted in the public discourse. On the eve of a misguided war the Commander in Chief of the most powerful military force in human history has located American foreign policy within a Biblical narrative that leads inexorably towards the plains of Megiddo, roughly fifty five miles northwest of Jerusalem: the battle of Armageddon. ... read full story / add a comment

Al Jazeera get a tape 'of poor quality' with 'Osama' on it...Powell has a transcript in advance...strange. Osama goes on about Iraq : he says things like 'Hide in deeply dug trenches'...US shouldn't bomb Iraq' Powell claims this is proof that there is a link between Saddam and Osama. However ,it turns out ,the good people at 'democraticunderground.com' have saved earlier (ie a few hours ago) reports of the transcript...and in it, Osama claims the Iraqi people should rise up and overthrow Saddam! Judge for yourself: truth used to be the first casuality, but now truth is a permanent casuality in the endless war on terror ,so I ,like just about everybody else, doesn't fully know what's going on... ... read full story / add a comment
