national / miscellaneous Monday February 10, 2003 - 18:07 by Justin Moran

The document, based on a trip to Iraq Jan. 20-26 by 10 health experts, concludes that, ''Iraqi children are at grave risk of starvation, disease, death and psychological trauma''. They ''are more vulnerable to the adverse effects of a new war than they were before the Gulf War of 1991'' but ''the international community has at present little capacity to respond to the harm that children will suffer by a new war in Iraq'', it adds. ... read full story / add a comment

The Global Women's Strike is entirely with the five activists from Catholic Worker who took action for all of us in further decommissioning a US naval plane, which illegally stopped to refuel at the civilian airport at Shannon. On behalf of women in Ireland and the communities who depend on our care, we demand the release of the two activists still remanded in prison.
