Wish I could have posted my pics of the charge of the NYC horse brigade into crowds, but the server won't accomodate. Please, when you have time go to NYC IMC to read the many first-hand accounts from 2/15. I personally feel it's important people read what happened to us. Yesterday, some joked with me that I didn't end as is my habit "Vince from the land of the free." Of course, I couldn't. What before was anger/irony, now feels so painfully real. I feel viscerally and spiritually sick. It was so ignorant of the cops/administration/judge and unnecessary yesterday. The cops were the problem, not the diverse and peaceful anti-war protesters. Well, my interview with the horse trainer/breeder as follows: ... read full story / add a comment

1/27/2003 - OGI: Cairo) France and Russia have been warned they must support the US military invasion and occupation of Iraq if they want acess to Iraqi oilfields in a post-Saddam Hussein Iraq. According to a report in today's Tehran Times, US Senator Richard Lugar, a leading member of the Bush administration and Republican Party chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said Russia and France "must be ready to stand shoulder-to-shoulder in any US-led military intervention" if they want a share of Iraqi oil. The paper quoted Lugar as saying that Paris and Moscow oil companies will be deprived of Iraqi oil and have no share in the country's resources if they refuse to join in the US war to oust Hussein. It noted that both the Russian Duma and the French parliament have both expressed opposition to a US military attack on Iraq. This story caan be found at: ... read full story / add a comment

Michel Chossudovsky looks at "the blatant distortion of truth and the systematic manipulation of all sources of information" which is lying the ground for devastating war. Military planners in the Pentagon are acutely aware of the central role of war propaganda. Waged from the Pentagon, the State Department and the CIA, a fear and disinformation campaign (FDC) has been launched. The blatant distortion of the truth and the systematic manipulation of all sources of information is an integral part of war planning. In the wake of 9/11, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld created to the Office of Strategic Influence (OSI), or "Office of Disinformation" as it was labeled by its critics: ... read full story / add a comment
