GENERAL STRIKE SEVILLE June 20th Seville ground to a halt today as everyone downed tools and took to the streets in a massive show of unity. Workers all over Spain reclaimed the streets in traditional style protest. Noise Colour and fun were the order of the day, with Today’s Issues centred on Workers rights, Privatisation and lack of unionisation. The loudest (and most colourful) parade was the RED n BLACK BLOC whose Stilt walkers, Drummers, and street theatre turned Seville’s deserted streets in to a carnival. People from all around the world danced around the RED ZONE where the growing police presence looked on. Scuffles on picket lines around Spain are reported to have resulted in 30 arrests and the hospitalisation of at least one person ... read full story / add a comment
