There has been discussion on whether St Patrick day should be used for anti-war demonstrations or left as a purely celebratary day. But with most in Ireland against the war its ironic to see the Dublin City Council put up white flags for peace along the river Liffy in Dublin the centre of celebrations (in photos below) while the government continues to support the US war http://www.redbrick.dcu.ie/~chewy/paddy/ ... read full story / add a comment

So what is a traitor doing in the White House as the Bush Junta prepares for war? Only a regime as corrupt as the Bush junta that voided the results of an election and has placed almost every indicted and convicted felon from the Reagan-Bush era into positions of power would have the audacity to parade a traitor in front of the news cameras as a patriot. ... read full story / add a comment

John Prescott told a Hull firefighter he'd reject the latest offer to the union if he was still a union shop steward. The admission came during Wednesday's lobby of Parliament. During a meeting lasting an hour and 20 minutes Ian Murray, a Hull firefighter said he repeatedly asked Mr Prescott if he would recommend the deal if he was still a union shop steward. "I kept pushing him to answer and eventually he said: 'Of course I wouldn't have.' I said to him: 'So why do you expect us to recommend it?' "He said the biggest mistake was asking for such a 40% pay rise from the outset. He said no workers would get that without giving up anything in return." Mr Murray pointed out that one group of workers had: Cabinet Ministers, including John Prescott. ... read full story / add a comment

The so-called Anti-War Movements of all the countries dithering over /when/ to escalate the murder of Iraqis are a shambolic coalition of hypocrites and do-gooders. Until we sort out clearly that 2nd UN Resolution or not, Iraq should not be invaded, sanctions should cease and Turkey should be prevented from oppressing Kurds further, we are doomed to failure. ... read full story / add a comment

The surreal experience that is Ennis district courtroom continued apace last Friday 7th March with 3 separate cases of resistance to US military use of Shannon Warport being heard.
