national / miscellaneous Saturday March 29, 2003 - 21:01 by Tom Mullins
Eamonn McCann, on WBAI, said there were uncanny parallels between the British propaganda about Bloody Sunday and current attempts to demonize Iraqi resistance. On Radio Free Eireann, NYC, today, Bernadette Sands-McKevitt, sister of Bobby Sands, MP, appealed to civil libertarians to protest the mistreatment of her husband, Michael McKevitt, who is now in his third year on remand, charged with being the leader of the Real IRA. McKevitt is held in a cell with no sanitary facilities. The sole evidence against him comes from MI5 and FBI agent, Rupert, and the prosecution is withholding documents from the defense. McKevitt who has been seriously ill with pneumonia, goes on trial(non-jury) in June. The Ahern regime has collaborated fully with the Anglo-American intelligence services in this attempt to railroad McKevitt. ... read full story / add a comment
