There's something distinctly illiberal about what goes under the name 'Political Science', says Prof James Alexander. Half its practitioners want to control our thoughts and the rest wonder why no one trusts government.

Rotherham is Children's Capital of Culture 2025! With workshops on diversity and being queer, it's every child's idea of fun, and the ideal tonic for unnamed traumas that definitely had nothing to do with diversity.

Pamela Scott Animal Fur Demonstration

“Worldwide Information Days Against Fur” this weekend

Before Christmas of 2007, the Flairline Fashions Group gave a verbal guarantee that they would become fur free by 2008 and would send confirmation in writing to ALiberation. Since then they have continued to sell animal fur.
ALiberation are now unsuspending their campaign to persuade the Flairline Fashions Group to become Fur Free.

This Saturday an event will be held outside of Pamela Scott on Grafton Street, Dublin to urge the Flairline Fashions Group to stop selling animal fur. This will coincide with the “Worldwide Information Days Against Fur” weekend.

Pamela Scott Animal Fur Demonstration

“Worldwide Information Days Against Fur” this weekend

When: Saturday, 14th of February, 2009
Time: 2pm
Where: Pamela Scott, Grafton St, Dublin 2 (Will move to Pamela Scott Ski, Claredon St. at 3pm)

The Flairline Fashions Group includes 24 stores nationwide. Outlets such as Pamela Scott, Pamela Scott Ski, Richard Alan, Ashley Reeves and Lisa Perkins are all owned by the Flairline Fashions Group.

The Animal Fur Industry is built on the violation of rights. Each year hundreds of millions of individuals are exploited for their skins. This industry treats animals as nothing more than things that grow fur. From foxes being caged for their whole life, to seals being clubbed, to dogs being skinned alive; the fur trade has a lot to answer for.

It is estimated that over 40% of new animal fur sales revenue comes from the use of animal fur in trimming on clothes or accessories (handbags etc) such as seen in Pamela Scott Ski.
http://www.pamelascott.ie/skistores

90% of foxes killed by the animal fur industry are to use their skins as fur trims.

A great deal of animal fur will not be labeled as coming from animals or it will be labeled in foreign language or will be mislabeled, helping to fool people into buying animal fur that they would not otherwise have bought.

Spokesperson for ALiberation, Jim Walsh said “ALiberation representatives have spoken to the Flairline Fashions Group on numerous occasions by phone, letters and emails. They continue to support the animal fur industry in spite of their verbal pledge to do otherwise.”

Please ask the Flairline Fashions Group to go Fur Free in all their outlets. Use the sample letter below or write your own letter or phone.

If you choose to contact the Flairline Fashions Group please inform them that overall Rabbit fur is not a by product of the meat industry but is an industry in its self.

Please let the Flairline Fashions Group know that by selling fur they actively participate in a fur industry that directly kills 170,000 animals in 6 fur farms in the Republic of Ireland and a fur industry that directly kills hundreds of million animals worldwide for the skin on their backs.
How much exploitation may be avoided if the fashion world change their ways?

Mr. Richard Barron (Chief Buyer)
Flairline Fashions Limited/Flairline Fashions Group,
Unit 27/28 Fashion City,
Ballymount,
Dublin 24.

Dear Mr. Barron,

I urge you to end all connection with the animal fur trade. The fur industry is built on exploitation and rights violations.

Please stop selling, advertising, storing and promoting animal fur through the Flairline Fashions Group.
The sale of fur from Rabbits and Foxes in outlets of the Flairline Fashions Group directly pays for the caging and killing of these animals.
By selling animal fur through your outlets and promoting it on your websites the Flairline Fashions Group is supporting an industry that kills hundreds of millions of animals each year, over 170,000 animals in Ireland alone.

These animals are caged and killed because retailers choose to sell animal fur and literally profit off their backs.

Over 40% of new animal fur sales revenue is accounted for by garments with fur trims or accessories (handbags etc). The type of trims used in the Flairline Fashions Group.

Rabbit fur is not a by product of the meat industry. Please see the website www.rabbitfur.org.

Yours,

Name
