The Irish Anti-War movement had a shindig in The Village on Wexford street last night to raise awareness, money and to have some fun.

The gig was an eclectic magazine of the happiest band in the world, serious comedy, frighteningly good slam poetry and a Gorillaz-esque performance of aThomas Moore ditty.

When I left, I wanted to be in a band, go and protest in Shannon and celebrate the freedom of revolution (thanks Glenda!).

So much was advertisd that I can't remenber it all, Anti-War Ireland in Shannon this sat, bus seats still left, another meeting this thursday, George Galloway will be gracing us with his prescence again soon.... Check the events section of Indymedia.ie.

The Happy Gang was the Band for me, epitomising all the joy that music, activism and revolution can bring. All their songs were great. If you want to be in their band, just hop up on stage and join them! Glenda Cimino spoke of her renewed optimism after the thirty years of the Anti-War activism in the the US over the Vietnam War..........

We want bread and roses, a bit of a boogie too and that's what the IAWM put on for us!
