Tuesday October 24, 2006 04:13 by Tommy Joe - Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign
"A grotesque form of evil ... new to this planet"
Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign activists participating in last Wednesday's Muslim Youth Society's charity bucket collection in Shop Street, Galway, could not but participate and protest in solidarity against, if Palestine's agony were'nt enough, yet another visitation of evil on this planet. below is info that I gleaned from various websites and the newspaper the visiting Falun Gong practioners kindly gave me : Falun Gong Today.
Last Wednesday's Falun Gong protest in Williamsgate St, Galway. Harvest of Horrors; Carved up Alive for Body Parts.
Independent Canadian investigators, David Kilgour, former Canadian Secretary of State (Asia Pacific) and David Matas, international human rights lawer, concluded in their July 6th, 2006, report that : "Based on what we now know, we have come to the regrettable conclusion that the allegations are true. We believe that there has been and continues today to be large scale organ seizures from unwilling Falun Gong practitioners ..."The allegations here are so shocking that they are almost impossible to believe. The allegations, if true, would represent a grotesque form of evil which, despite all the depravations humanity has seen, would be new to this planet. We met one witness who said that her surgeon husband told her that he personally removed the corneas from approximately 2,000 anaesthetized Falun Gong prisoners in northeast China during the two year period before October, 2003, at which time he
refused to continue. The surgeon made it clear to his wife that none of the cornea "donors" survived the experience because other surgeons removed other vital organs and all of their bodies were then burned. The woman is not a Falun Gong practitioner".
The International Committee of the Red Cross is not allowed to visit prisoners in China.
nor is any other organization concerned with human rights of prisoners.
"The very horror makes us reel back in disbelief. But that disbelief does not mean that the allegations are untrue"
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a practice of the Buddha School, consisting of meditation and exercises, with teachings that emphasise living by three principles: truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance. Originating in China, Falun Gong is now practised in over 70 countries. With Chinese government estimates of 100 million China practising Falun Gong in China.
In July 1999, the Chinese Communist Party-state launched a nationwide, violent campaign to “eradicate” the practice. The European Falun Gong Information Centre has verified details of 2,840 deaths and over 44,000 cases of torture. Millions have been detained or sent to forced labour camps.
Amnesty International's report of 2000 noted that 77 Falun Gong practitioners had "died in custody, or shortly after release, in suspicious circumstances since the crackdown began in July 1999."
Although Falun Dafa was initially applauded by the Chinese Government for its benefits to health and to society by 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) came to see Falun Gong as a threat to its
monopoly of ideological power over China in the late 1990s and thus had to be extirpated.
David Kilgour and David Matas "met one witness who said that her surgeon husband told her that he personally removed the corneas from approximately 2,000 anaesthetized Falun Gong prisoners in
northeast China during the two year period before October, 2003, at which time he refused to continue. The surgeon made it clear to his wife that none of the cornea "donors" survived the experience because other surgeons removed other vital organsand all of their bodies were then burned. It is reported that at least 36 facilities exist in China for the organ extraction of Falun Gong practitioners - murdering them in the process
"Chinese medical personnel with knowledge of the organ harvesting have disappeared"

Jump To Comment: 1 2China's viciousness was recently evidenced by video footage shot by a Romanian cameraman on a mountaineering trip where a Chinese border guard is filmed, calmly opening fire from a mountain ridge on a group of unarmed, defenceless Tibetans below, as they struggled through the snow to escape from occupied Tibet. one the two figures shown dropping to the ground, Kelsang Nortso, a 25-year-old Buddhist nun was shot dead, the other believed to be a 13 year old boy subsequently died of his wounds. Reminiscent of the Israeli authorities reaction to the cold blooded shooting of ISM activist, Tom Hurndall, the Chinese authorities reacted by issuing a statement through the Xinhua news agency claiming the border guards only opened fire after they were "attacked" by a group of some 70 Tibetan refugees who refused an order to go back to Tibet
On the soundtrack : "They're shooting them like, like dogs," was the outraged reaction of one of the mountaineers standing beside the Romanian filming this snuff movie.
While China's human rights records should be examined, I would like to urge you to look into all the facts of the case regarding the organ harvesting allegation made by the religious sect Falun Gong, and promoted by Mr. David Kilgour. The Kilgour report was mentioned by Dr. Torsten Trey at your Sept. 8th, 2006 meeting.
In my opinion Falun Gong's actions not only discredited their own cause, they also detracted from honest examination of China's problems. Falun Gong's indictment muddles the rational discussion of issues such as China's legal reform and Chinese society's moral, ethical standards on dignity and treatment of the condemned.
It is in this spirit I would like to bring to your attention some contrarian facts surrounding Falun Gong's recent media activity:
- US State Department investigated and found Falun Gong's Sujiatun/Auschwitz allegation not credible. (1)
- A US Congressional brief on China and Falun Gong questioned the veracity of Falun Gong's claim of genocide and credibility of the Kilgour report. (2)
- Long time Chinese dissident Harry Wu investigated the allegation and found Falun Gong's witness unreliable. (3)
- The hospital Falun Gong accused is partly owned by a Malaysian health care company, Country Heights Health Sanctuary, and is subject to oversight beyond Chinese authority. Malay officials have documented prior year visit, and the facility has been open to public for years. (4)
- The gory photo admitted as evidence by Mr. Kilgour, is not evidence of torture or vivisection.
Specifically, photo of Mr. Wang Bin in the Kilgour report, Appendix 12 Case 1. Pathologist review contradicted Falun Gong's claim. (5) Even according to Falun Gong's own evidence, an autopsy was performed as part of Mr. Wang's murder investigation held by local authority. (6)
Another photo that is widely mis-used by Falun Gong is of Mr. Liu Yufeng, it too does not prove torture or vivisection. In reality these autopsy photos prove the opposite is true. The Chinese government was not complicit and investigated death of citizens while under police custody.
In conclusion, writing allegory of "Schindler's List" is not the way to examine China's human rights record. If we in the west can not be precise with our accusation, only resort of nefarious indictment - why should anyone take what we say seriously?
Sincerely,
