In China, the black bells toll for the Falun Gong !

category galway | rights, freedoms and repression | news report author Tuesday October 24, 2006 04:13author by Tommy Joe - Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign Report this post to the editors

"A grotesque form of evil ... new to this planet"

Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign activists participating in last Wednesday's Muslim Youth Society's charity bucket collection in Shop Street, Galway, could not but participate and protest in solidarity against, if Palestine's agony were'nt enough, yet another visitation of evil on this planet. below is info that I gleaned from various websites and the newspaper the visiting Falun Gong practioners kindly gave me : Falun Gong Today.

Harvest of Horrors; Carved up Alive for Body Parts.

Independent Canadian investigators, David Kilgour, former Canadian Secretary of State (Asia Pacific) and David Matas, international human rights lawer, concluded in their July 6th, 2006, report that : "Based on what we now know, we have come to the regrettable conclusion that the allegations are true. We believe that there has been and continues today to be large scale organ seizures from unwilling Falun Gong practitioners ..."The allegations here are so shocking that they are almost impossible to believe. The allegations, if true, would represent a grotesque form of evil which, despite all the depravations humanity has seen, would be new to this planet. We met one witness who said that her surgeon husband told her that he personally removed the corneas from approximately 2,000 anaesthetized Falun Gong prisoners in northeast China during the two year period before October, 2003, at which time he
refused to continue. The surgeon made it clear to his wife that none of the cornea "donors" survived the experience because other surgeons removed other vital organs and all of their bodies were then burned. The woman is not a Falun Gong practitioner".

The International Committee of the Red Cross is not allowed to visit prisoners in China.
nor is any other organization concerned with human rights of prisoners.

"The very horror makes us reel back in disbelief. But that disbelief does not mean that the allegations are untrue"

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a practice of the Buddha School, consisting of meditation and exercises, with teachings that emphasise living by three principles: truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance. Originating in China, Falun Gong is now practised in over 70 countries. With Chinese government estimates of 100 million China practising Falun Gong in China.

In July 1999, the Chinese Communist Party-state launched a nationwide, violent campaign to “eradicate” the practice. The European Falun Gong Information Centre has verified details of 2,840 deaths and over 44,000 cases of torture. Millions have been detained or sent to forced labour camps.
Amnesty International's report of 2000 noted that 77 Falun Gong practitioners had "died in custody, or shortly after release, in suspicious circumstances since the crackdown began in July 1999."

Although Falun Dafa was initially applauded by the Chinese Government for its benefits to health and to society by 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) came to see Falun Gong as a threat to its
monopoly of ideological power over China in the late 1990s and thus had to be extirpated.

David Kilgour and David Matas "met one witness who said that her surgeon husband told her that he personally removed the corneas from approximately 2,000 anaesthetized Falun Gong prisoners in
