Ógra Rooftopers Shout 'End Political Policing!'

category national | rights, freedoms and repression | news report author Monday March 20, 2006 17:50author by Ógra B - Ógra Shinn Féin Report this post to the editors

SS PSNI!

A rooftop protest was held in Belfast City Centre last Wednesday 15 March to highlight the political activities of the PSNI. The protest coincided with Sinn Féin’s 'End Political Policing' Day of Action and also the anniversary of the murder of Human Rights lawyer, Rosemary Nelson.

Ógra Rooftopers get their message out!
Ógra Rooftopers get their message out!

As the protesters gathered on the streets around Belfast City Hall the PSNI created a ring of steel around the building preventing the protestors freedom of movement. Ógra Shinn Féin activists then occupied the top of a nearby building as other protestors closed off the main road in the city. They could be heard with loud hailers chanting, “End Political Policing Anois!”

Barry McColgan of Ógra Shinn Féin hailed the action as a success and said,

"The 'end political policing' campaign needs decisive, direct action protests such as the rooftop occupation today to show that we are committed to ending the PSNI's campaign of political policing - our serious messages must be met with serious actions!"

What sinn fein say and do are two completly separate things.

i thought the next historic and heroic act for sinn fein to evolve to was to join the PSNI?

Is it when they stop turning a blind eye to diesel washing, cigarette smuggling and torture chambers?

author by Croppypublication date Tue Mar 21, 2006 13:17author address author phone Report this post to the editors

No - we will never turn a blind eye to the corruption, racketeering and practice of torture by the Britsh presence in Ireland.

unfortunately sinn fein are on the verge of giving their backing and full assistance to the British police in Ireland , including joining their ranks . Without a British declaration of intent to withdraw from Ireland , British policing cant be anything but political .

The slogan is an empty illogical nonsense , which is what happens when your political analysis gets warped by MI5 agents dominating your leadership . Id like to see sinn fein even attempt to define non-political policing in an Irish context . And it seems they are happy enough with "political policing" in the 26 counties . No giving out about that .

barry your comments are idiotic and only serve to show the lack of knowledge you have regarding the subject. you know fine well what political policing is. and not one member of sinn fein has come out in favour of joining psni/ruc.

just because 32CSM haven't a clue about reality, don't go showing us that you're the simpleton we expect you to be.

No I dont .

Define it for me please . And are you now saying sinn fein will not be joining the British police ? Introduce me to " reality" please . Define political policing in an Irish context

First of all you say I havent a clue what Im talking about and the next minute " I know fine well what it means" . Im even more confused...no hold on...its you thats confused . You dont seem to know what your talking about .

i remeber gerry kelly having his arm broken a while back proctecting the police during an orange march! sit back and watch the provos become part of the psni, they have joined every other british controlled part of the north's government, and they are well paid by the crown never mind full of informers and touts

author by Barrypublication date Wed Mar 22, 2006 21:24author address author phone Report this post to the editors

thats precisely who he was protecting . No doubt a shinner will pop up and say " but the paras would have killed people !!" . Thats precisely why British rule should be opposed , not collaborate with .

Still no sign of a definition of non-political British policing in occupied Ireland I see . Thats because theres no such thing . Sinn Fein wasting peoples time with empty slogans( no decomissioning) yet again . Theyll join the British police no fear . Its just posturing and those eejits on the roof of city hall will be seen to have made fools of themselves . Just like the idiots who ran round shouting " not a bullet , not an ounce" . The Irish brigade even had an entire album called " no decomissioning" . How does that happen without a bunch of snakes for your leadership ?

Sinn Fein may get ready to either ditch their useless collaborator leadership or prepare to join the British police and get very political in their policing methods . Theyll have no choice once they do .

Comrades at a public meeting in Pilots Row in the Bogside in Derry City two weeks ago one local resident claimed that when she went to SF about an anti-social problem councillor Peter Anderson gave her the phone number of a specific RUC man and told her she should contact him and pass on information about her complaint. This type of behaviour by the provos is now a regular occurence and i suggest we should be publicising it.

I also heard that a certain Derry security firm closely connected to a certain Sinn Fein former British minister has been found to have been hiring off duty PSNI officers to work as bouncers . One such individual was found to have been carrying his personal firearm while working for this firm only recently.

Which is worse - paras massacring people in Derry in 1971, Or - 32CSM affiliates killing 29 people in Omagh in the 1990s? Barry - you are a disgusting bastard.
