ARAN's Rally Against Canada's Seal Slaughter

category dublin | animal rights | event notice author Thursday February 23, 2006 13:38author by John Carmody - Animal Rights Action Network (ARAN)author email arancampaigns at eircom dot netauthor address ARAN Po Box 722 Kildare, Irelandauthor phone 087-6275579 Report this post to the editors

Please support this special event

2006 could be the last year the Canadian seal hunt takes place. Canada now has a new Prime Minister Steven Harper who spoke out against the slaughter, the boycott of Canadian ‘sea food’ has already blown a $150 million dollar hole in the exports of ‘sea food’ to the United States of America alone! Also Greenland, Italy and the UK are now taking steps to ban the imports of seal skins into the country – now has never being a better time to take part in Animal Rights Action Network (ARAN) rally against the seal hunt.

Please join us for the peaceful visual rally outside the Canadian embassy where we’ll call for the slaughter to be stopped and a boycott of Canadian ‘sea food’.

When: Thursday 23rd March, 2006.

Where: Canadian Embassy, 65 St Stephen’s Green, Dublin 2.

Time: 12noon - 2pm (Stay for as long as you can!)

This rally will be the fourth rally we have organized with last years protest reaching over 50 people. This year we want to make it bigger again - ARAN will have a huge vinyl banner that will read “Canada Stop Killing Seals” and will also be giving out placards that read “Boycott Canadian Sea Food” and “Do Something” We will also be showing the slaughter on a portable DVD player.

Please do your very best to come along to this protest for even just one hour and be sure to forward this email onto everyone you can possibly think of. This may be the very last protest we have to attend to stop the Canadian seal hunt once and for all.

Be sure to check out www.protectseals.org – www.seashepherd.org – www.harpseals.org for more information on the campaign
