The prosecution of a man for burning the Qur'an shows how Islamic blasphemy codes are becoming embedded in criminal law. Coming up with a legal definition of 'Islamophobia' will accelerate this process, says Sam Bidwell.

Solar farms are an ecological disaster. Birds frequently fly into them, mistaking them for water, while electrocution and incineration are common. But you won't hear about this in the mainstream media, says Chris Morrison.

Support stardust Families + prevent Butterly from reopening Stardust Club

This meeting will provide the families with the opportunity to express their opinions regarding how to progress this campaign. Attended meeting you posted and will definitely be at the pickets which continue week nights from 6pm to 8pm. Im from the area and never realized that BUTCHER BUTTERERLY owns the Maxol garage. Wont be buying my petrol there again. You can count on my support to assist in hitting him where it hurts and closing down this garage. Also if I hear he is attempting to open the pub I will be down like a shot. These families are obviously worn out and it is our MORAL DUTY to support them.

I am in complete support of the pickets on the Stardust site against the reopening of the Stardust Nite Club. It just shows you what type of Bastard Butterly is reopening his club on the 25th anniversary of the deaths of 48 young people. I am from the area and grew up around that time. A lot of families from my area suffered the loss of a young son or daughter but what did Butterly lose...a few legal costs out of the claim he won against Dublin Corporation. He got advice from his cronies in Finna Fail in the aftermath of the disaster on how quickly to get himself back in business never once apoligising for the suffering he caused. They are looking for help to man the protest and will be marching on Aherns offices in Drumcondra next Saturday. Maybe as a memorial to the people who died Butterlys business should die also for treating the victims families with such contempt. We should boycott the premises and the garage and hit Butterly where it hurts....in his pocket.
