Somebody down there must like Irish Ferries!

... for the rain came down and down, no mercy, a serious inhibitor as regards demonstrator numbers - 1,000 +, nevertheless, it did'nt dampen Michael D. Higgin's fiery denunciatory speech of Irish Ferries and their fellow-travellers in government at march's end at the Spanish Arch or Maura Harrington's (of Shell to Sea fame), collaring of Frank Fahey (of Shell to Sea notoriety) at the end of the demo : Maura asked him how the "consents" (for the pipeline) were going, "fine" says Fahey, "not up in Mayo, they're not", riposted the sharp tongued Maura, Fahey with his arse in Maura's bacon slicer and clearly discombobulated (unfortunately, the posted shot does'nt show it) trying to bollox his way out of the situation by soft-flanneling her with; "you have a strong campaign up there," "yeah", says Maura, "we fight to win, Fahey skedaddled after that - keep running, pilgrim!.

Michael D. addressing the rain-drenched crowd at the Spanish Arch

Listening to Michael D. powering it out, Countess Markievicz's description of Big Jim Larkin speaking during the industrial dispute of 1913 came to mind: "Sitting there, listening to Larkin, I realised that I was in the presence of something that I never came across before, some great primeval force rather than a man, a tornado, a storm-driven wave, the rush into life of spring, and the blasting breath of autumn, all seemed to emanate from the power that spoke. It seemed as if his personality caught up, assimilated, and threw back to the vast crowd that surrounded him every motion that swayed him, every pain and joy that they had ever felt made articulate and sanctified. Only the great elemental force that is in all crowds had passed into his nature for ever".

On page 8 of this week's issue of Village magazine (8-14 December), whistleblower, John Hanamy reveals that :

"From next year, the post of the Taoiseach's mouth will be taken over by an eastern Eupopean Politician, Bertieu Hernau. Mr Hernau will work for only a fraction of the present Taoiseach's salary and the fact that he speaks no understandable English is not seen as a handicap. A former Republican Guardsman, Major Muchta Al Dool is expected to replace our Minister for Justice, Major Al Dool is reported as saying he finds fulfilling his obligations under international law tedious and he would like to deport all foreigners as soon as they set foot on Irish soil. However, as he is prepared to work for only 3 euro an hour, Major Al Dool is considered excellent value for money. Other posts facing redundancy from cheap foreign labour are understood to include all Economics Lecturers and under special threat are newspaper owners with shares in large corporations. However painful this might be in the short term, it is believed to be necessary to give all of us more bang for our buck".

Mr Hanamy further reveals that the proposed Shell/Statoil/Marathon gas refinery in Bellinaboy, Erris, County Mayo is nothing of the sort but a CIA "Private Interprise Black Site" where the corpes of over 100,000 Iraqi slaughtered civilians are going to be processed into chyle and cadaverine, irradiated, odorised and distributed nationwide through the Bord Ghais pipeline 'as sustenance for the redundant Irish Ferry workers and the other two million Irish that shortly will join them'. The Galway, Craughwell Feeding Station has already entered into the spirit of the thing and is to market for the rich only, "a gourmet style chyle, Jonathan Swift special" - the livers of Traveller children, force fed on pureed McDonald's hamburgers through funnels down their necks until they swell and burst.

Our Minister of Health, Musha al-Drool, side-kick of Muchta, when confronted by Mr Hanamy on this proposed obscenity, reiterated the answer she gave on a RTE programme in June 2000, when asked to comment on the outrage over the premature release from prison of Philip Sheedy and the forced resignations of Judges Kelly and O'Flaherty, opined: "I would predict that three or four months from now, will anybody remember this?.
