The main events of the solidarity week kicked off on Tuesday with an early morning blockade on a Statoil Depot in Ballina. The Depot was blockaded by Shell to Sea campaigners from 7:30am to 1:30pm (in adverse weather conditions) with a big banner reading STATOIL + SHELL= IRISH HELL. Workers at the depot greeted the blockade with good nature and cooperation and did not try to cross it.

In the evening a talk was held in the Solidarity camp on Peak Oil and the problem of fossil fuels. The talk was attended by both locals and visitors to the camp.

Thursday's main event was street theatre in Castlebar. A short drama based on the story of the Rossport 5 v Shell was performed for the good people of Ballina and leaflets were handed out. A Sandwiches not Pipelines (Rossport version of FNB) was also held.

Back in Rossport a social night for locals and campers was held in the Solidarity Camp on Thursday evening. Delicious food was provided by the Bitchin Kitchen and a sing-song/ jammin session followed.
