offsite link Does Starmer Know What He?s Talking About on AI? Thu Jan 23, 2025 13:28 | James Alexander
Why was Keir Starmer's recent speech on AI written like a Mr Men book? Prof James Alexander wonders if the Prime Minister knows what he's talking about. Is AI really "the ultimate force for national renewal"?

offsite link Trump Puts all Diversity Staff on Leave ?Immediately? Thu Jan 23, 2025 11:00 | Will Jones
Donald Trump has ordered that all federal diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) staff be put on paid leave "immediately" and eventually laid off as the new President's war on woke goes nuclear.

offsite link Government by Hysteria: The Climate and Covid Hobgoblins Begin to Fade Thu Jan 23, 2025 09:00 | Tilak Doshi
Climate hobgoblins have been long in the making whereas Covid ones crawled out of nowhere. But both put corrupted science in the service of tyrannical politics. Now, at last, the hobgoblins are fading, says Tilak Doshi.

offsite link How Come Elon Musk is Automatically a Nazi, But Axel Rudakubana Definitely Isn?t a Terrorist? Thu Jan 23, 2025 07:00 | Steven Tucker
How come Elon Musk is automatically a Nazi, but a man who possesses a terror training manual, creates stores of ricin, kills several people and pleads guilty to terror charges, is not a terrorist at all?

My favourite piece of Cork graffiti is outside the pub known as The Goat beside the Fianna Fail offices on the Grand Parade (at the entrance to Old Post Office lane and beside the former Grand Parade Hotel).

Below the painted sign "The Goat" someone has painted "is dead"

looks like the pixies have visited or are in cork:
found this in the newly named "hope street gap", a lane which leads down from near the university to fitzgerald park by the river lee

their statement to the world, from their site
We are the Pinka Punka Pixies. We are graffiti artists. We use graffiti to spread what we consider to be positive messages. We operate as an open group. In theory this means that anyone can use the Pinka Punka Pixies tag to sign their work (feel free....). In practise we are a group of mates who go painting together and sign collectively. Signing collectively (rather than as individuals) allows our work to have a coherant identity, and encourages cooperation between us. This site consists of as much of our stuff as we've manage to photograph, and a collection of random photos of other peoples work that I reckon is worth a look.

Just shows you why Scientifically and Technologically educated people regard Post-Modernists artists as Air Heads.

I'd hazard a guess thatLeonardo da Vinci wouldn't be seen dead with modern artists.

Leonardo invented the helicopter....amongst other things.
He was probably the smartest man in recorded history.

I'd say he would be improving, probably running, the particle accelerator in CERN if he were alive today.

Not spraying paint on walls and calling it "art."
