Jump To Comment: 1 2 3While I am disgusted that our so called "People's Government" is allowing a multinational with the track record of Shell to bulldoze its way through our planning system with what is at best a questionable scheme. I feel equal disquiet at the way the IRA/Sin Fein are using this to play the higher moral ground card on the government. While every supporting voice helps and its good that they support these men in their brave stand, we would do well to remember that SF is still a political party representing (and I do hate using this word as its being misused and flogged to death in the media at the moment) a terrorist organisation with an equally reprehensible record as the company in question. Unfortunately this seems to be keeping with the ever increasing trend of where the national political discourse is succumbing to an acute case of rhetoric and petty point scoring.

I'm sick to my teeth of this petty anti-shinner rant from people like Tim. I wonder what Tim is doing to support the men in jail?
I also wonder has he paused to consider the possibilty that maybe (god between us and all harm) some of the families involved actually support SF?
Not that it matters a damn. As r.isible says, the important thing is to keep the campaign united and I too would question the motives of those harping on about the shinners. And you can bet your life the same people would/will be talking crap about eco-warriors and anarchists taking over the campaign and threatening violence.
Fortunately the Mayo people involved are astute enough to see through this and welcome the support of any and everyone; shinners, anarchists, socilaists etc, etc.
