news report
Thursday June 30, 2005 23:20 by M.M.McCarron - OSI
Took place at 4.15pm today. Eleven Questions asked in the Dail this afternoon. Minister Dempsey was present. Did not respond to a reasonable call for the project to be suspended until all related issues are thrashed out and did not offer to intervene. Does he realise that the law can only work on the State mess that is presented? The family of Michael Shine of Cloverhill Prison was present in the Dail gallery for this afternoon debate. In all six people listened to the 11 questions tabled. The questions came from a wide party spread. |

Jump To Comment: 1 2Of course there is political scoring going on and quite frankly im a little wary, whilst not been able to go to Mayo I have fully supported the actions of the people and devoted activists in the area but others havent and have paid no interest until now. This hasnt been going on for the last two weeks though, the anti shell buildup has been going on for well over a year(correct me if im wrong) and i am quite wary of the likes of Labour, Sinn Fein et all stepping into this scene all of a sudden. This has been going on for years, where were they then? Hell, where were they one month ago?
I just want to say how much I admire these 5 men for sticking by what they believe in and for having the courage of their convictions.....to the point where they will go to prison for what they believe in. I know that these men are good decent people who have never been in any trouble in their lives. I support what they are doing and I congratulate them and their families for the bravery they have shown. Never let the bullies win! I admire and support you all.
