John Kerry is NOT anti-war!!!!

category international | anti-war / imperialism | other press author Wednesday October 27, 2004 17:58author by Ken - Anti-War Report this post to the editors

Kerry gets nowhere because he says he would do the same thing Bush did, only differently.

'What I want to do is change the dynamics on the ground,' Kerry volunteered. 'And you have to do that by beginning to not back off of Falluja and other places and send the wrong message to terrorists. You've got to show you're serious.' Right on, John!"

The idea that John Kerry is some kind of peacenik, who will get us out of Iraq and drive the neocons out of the Temple of Democracy, is a myth that will die a hard death, but die it must. I realize that a lot of my readers have invested their hopes and dreams in the man, but, if you want some expert advice, don't take it from me, take it from one who knows: Bill Safire. The uber-hawkish columnist for the New York Times, always a dependable weathervane to see which way the neocon wind is blowing, was positively gloating after last week's Kerry-Bush slugfest:

Ken, the war happened, and most of us believe it is still happening and has become worse. It was most helpful to be "anti-War" last year and the year before, and if you joined all those millions of other people on the street, then you did your bit.
Now it really is a good idea to be "anti-Bush".
Chances are if you were "anti-war" before you're "anti-Bush". Though you may be one of those strange "anti-war pro-republican" people. Who knows you might even be a "anti-war pro-Kurd anti-Bush anti-Saddam pro-peace". Well if you are one of those, you're probably thinking how to stop more wars, end this war, and fix the weather.
Kerry is not going to do any do these things, nor will he lobby for Burger King workers' wages if that chain ever goes pop.
But he would be different to Bush, in that his daddy wasn't a sworn enemy of Saddam, isn't a former president of the USA, nor the son of an investor in nazi germany or the man who first implemented new world order.

In other words "Bush lite" is just about right.

Unless of course you can get Nadar from 5% to 37% of votes and almost half the electoral colleges by next week. In which case you ought be very busy, and not commenting here.

Kerry belongs to the ‘New Democrat’ wing of the Democratic Party- which is really neo-conservatism by another name.
In terms of foreign policy it’s all just Coke v Pepsi.
