category dublin | summit mobilisations | news report author Tuesday May 04, 2004 15:59author by Dublin Grassroots Network Report this post to the editors

Dublin Grassroots is developing a press release on injuries suffered by the batons of the gardai and harassment of protestors from the gardai. If you were injured or harassed please contact the first-aid group or the legal group.

The media up to this point has one reported one head injury that resulted from the gardai abuse on Saturday evening. We know that the gardai were out there attacking protestors with their batons. The first aid team and fellow helpful protestors clean up and bandage many injuries on Saturday evening. These injuries ranged from broken arms to head injuries. We want to ensure that this side of the story is being told. Grassroots is putting together a press release outlining the abuse suffered at the hands of the gardai. If you were injured over the weekend could you please contact a Clare Lee (0861640538), a delegate from the Dublin grassroots first aid group.

The first aid team and injured protestors will be meeting tomorrow to put together a list of confirmed injuries and develop a press release. It is important that we get the truth out there in regards to the abuse of protestors.

Also if you were followed, abused, harrassed by the gardai please contact the legal team at 086 069 1402.
