Global Action, UCD has decided to call for a picket for Top Oil, Amien Street, Dublin (down the road from Connolly Station) next Monday, November 3rd at 4pm.

The picket will take place in solidarity wth the Pitstop Ploughshares Five, who have a pre-trial hearing on November 3rd for the "crime" of disarming a military plane. The NUI Galway Ecology Society is holding a protest at the Galway Oil Company offices on Forster Street (the local wing of Top Oil) on the same day.

The company which re-fuels the American military at Shannon is called Top Aviation Fuels. This is a subsidiary of Top Oil, a sub-section of Tedcastle Holdings, part of the business empire of the Reihill family. Top Oil also trade in domestic heating oil, have filling stations throughout Ireland.

The Pit Stop Ploughshares have called for solidarity vigils at Irish Embassies & Consuls and sites of significance on Monday November 3rd.

Deirdre Clancy, Nuin Dunlop, Karen Fallon, Damien Moran and Ciaron O'Reilly will appear for mention in the Four Courts on Nov. 3rd. Top are refuelling US warplanes in Shannon. If we can hit their profits through a boycott it won't make sense for them to continue to refuel war planes at Shannon.

5.00 pm Saturday 1 November 2003,
Raytheon, Buncrana Road

FEIC's November Vigil at Raytheon will be an act of solidarity with the Pitstop Ploughshares Five, whose next court hearing will be in Dublin on Monday Nov 3rd. We will also carry out a ritual 'oblation' at the site, in a symbolic act of cleansing and memory of the blood shed in Iraq and all other wars by weapons of mass destruction, manufactured by arms companies like Raytheon.

As it will be dark, please bring candles, lights, torches etc. If you want to take part in the oblation, please bring water, wine, oil, etc.

Peter Riley here.

Made some copies of a suggested leaflet sent by Ciaron at3CR on recycled
paper.
Friday night 6.30pm I made it to the Australia - Ireland game and gave out
200 or so leaflets.
Most just wanted something to read in queues.
Did not attend match or hang about for responses as I was obliged to mmet
some travellers at 7.30pm.

Also distributed about to places like 3CR eg pidgeon-holes for Celtic folk &
Connolly Association shows.

Also left a pile at Trades Hall where the Jabiluka celebration was held. A
large crowd showed up for that gig i heard next day.

Also phoned the Irish Embassy to get a protest in early.

Thuis I will not be about for the Monday protest.
good luck with that if it goes ahead !

Ciaron - good luck to you all on Monday !

Peter
