ACRA Control Ltd will be at London expo next week

At least one Irish firm will be exhibiting their wares at next week's massive arms fare in London, DSEI, according to their website (http://www.dsei.co.uk/exhibit_list_2003.htm).

The arms fair, which takes place around this time every year, will host every significant weapons dealer and contractor in the world from September 9 to 12 at the ExCeL exhibition centre in London. ACRA Control Ltd are according to their website: "[producing] high-performance, cost-effective digital data acquisition systems for the world aerospace and transportation industries. Products are used in over 28 countries in the most demanding applications including Flight test, Space vehicles, and Operational load monitoring." (http://www.acracontrol.com/)

They make the electronics which help make aircraft, including fighters and bombers work. A quick look at their Customers website (http://www.acracontrol.com/contact/acra.htm) will give you an idea of who they work with (i.e. the largest weapons firms in the world!). You can pay them a visit if you like at their Dublin address, in case you can't make it to London, which is also available on their website.

Don't you numties understand that we need weapons in the world to defend our societies?

Humans have at least another million years of evoving to do before we can dispense with weapons.

Of course, you people are unwilling to acknowledge this obvious fact. "How many times will a man turn his head, and pretend that he just doesn't see?"

We've been supplying weapons since European armies were buying horses at the ballinasloe horse-fair. Every country has an arms industry, even those left wing fascist sates the Irish-left had (an continue to) have a hard-on for.

like computer parts and computer software to me? where exactly does this fit in with the anti war movement, do we have any proof that these were used in killing people

They are exhibiting at an arms fair - maybe they are selling cute-bunny software that wonders around your desktop - but I'd say that it is more likely to be something to do with weapons, wouldn't you?

but Micro$oft and Linux are used by the military too shall be mount pickets there as well???

I'd have no problem pitching rocks at them.

But your point is silly anyway. It only makes sense to exhibit at an arms fair if you have a product that is tailored especially for military use. If a particular army are shopping for desktop OSes or database servers or whatever, they're going to go shopping at a software fair, not an arms fair. Geddit??
