An attempt was made last week to start a Nazi cell in the Cork area. Posters stating "The Holocaust did not happen" appeared on city streets and advertised a gathering last Thursday at the Fr. Mathew Statue in Patrick.

However the lone Cork nazi Brian Wallace was thwarted in his recruitment efforts by a group of socialist and anti-war activists.

Two young socialists "offered" to distribute his magazine and quickly relieved him - and the people of Cork - of about half of his rubbish. Others then arrived with placards saying "Nazis out of Cork" and drew the attention of members of the public to this attempt to distribute fascist literature in the heart of the city.

Wallace then took flight and was followed as far as Coburg Street where he took refuge in a bookies shop. Anyone prepared to bet on his next appearance on our streets with his nazi filth?
